The sketch work of the artist depicts a cloudy and chilly autumn day. In the distance, past the hills overgrown with dark forest, a lazy river, overflowing with rain, runs away. In the foreground of the picture is a small grove painted in the fall. The faded meadows along the river have already lost their former brightness and freshness, they are ready to meet the winter. A gray, uneven and cold sky covers the landscape, creates an atmosphere of expectation, gives the landscape a special autumn sadness.
Shades of yellow and brown enliven the faded green of the meadows, the water surface of the river echoes the cloudy sky. The color of the sky is complex, here the author managed to convey many shades, as well as an interesting play of light."
