Portrait "Russian Medici" remained unfinished. The artist painstakingly shapes the image of a wealthy industrialist and a brilliantly educated person. Out of the darkness of the office, an overbearing, confident person looks at the viewer. His pose betrays some awkwardness, which the hero is trying to hide with all his might.
Interior details "are working" to the image of a philanthropist and patron of the arts. The author manages to create the atmosphere of the artistic cabinet of a talented industrialist, excellent taste and difficult character. All together – a wonderful example of a ceremonial portrait, which is painted with extraordinary respect and reverence. The author is sincerely delighted with his model, he is trying with all his might to emphasize the originality of the personality and creative mindset."
